These Reditainer 3 compartment food containers could be fitted into a cooler. They are leak proof it matters very little that they are propped vertically inside. Upon retrieval, it is easy to 'unlock' the lid. The portions are good sizes. One tray will hold 2 apples, 3 bananas, and a good handful of grapes. The lids raise up too, so you can have an over-extra scoop on top of your foods.
