Zippo's Matte lighters are one of the most popular lighter finishes as the matte finish gives the lighter a smooth texture, it doesn't show fingerprints, it doesn't scratch easily, and there are a variety of colors to choose from. The black matte lighter was first introduced into Zippo's stock line in 1984 and soon after four more colors were introduced; blue, burgundy, green, and grey. In 1985, the Zippo logo was imprinted on the lighter and a border was added. Matte colors and designs continue to improve with time. Each lighter has a bottom stamp signifying the year it was made, is refillable, and is backed by Zippo's famous lifetime guarantee.
