<p>Properly tensioning a do-it-yourself cable railing is the most important part of installing your own cable system. Tighten the hex nut, which pulls the threaded terminal through the post, tightening the cable. In a 4x4 post, the terminal will be hidden entirely within the end post, leaving a very clean look of just the cable coming out of the post. After tensioning to satisfaction, cut or grind off the excess threads outside of the hex nut, leaving enough threads to attach the cap nut. Turn on the cap nut tightly and lock the hex nut into place.</p> <p>These Threaded Terminals require a special hand-crimper tool. <b>Make sure to use the VistaView CableTec Hand Crimper Tool</b> for 1/8" fittings or a comparable <b>marine style crimper tool</b>.
