Victor Herbert was a European trained composer who settled in the USA, and was for several decades one of the best known composers of light classical music, and especially many operettas that were performed on Broadway. This is beautiful, tuneful music that is perfect for radio and in store play. It is also wonderfully performed on this recording featuring Mark Kosower, who is Principal Cello of the Cleveland Orchestra.
