From Tomytec. "Little Armory" is a 1/12 scale assembly kit series that combines realism with posable figures. The latest release is the light machine gun "M249 Type", often seen in movies and anime. You can use this item with your posable figures! The M249 is a Belgian SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) adopted by the US army in 1982. It can rapid-fire 5.56mm bullets like the main rifles M16 and M4, and if necessary it can also share the same magazines. It's 3kg lighter than the previous general machine gun M60 and also shorter, and since it does not require an ammunition assistant it can be operated by a single soldier. The firepower of a M249 is said to correspond to 12 riflemen equipped with M16, which made it a reliable weapon for infantry squads. This kit recreates the most standard setup of the M249, including a long barrel, heat shield, resin hand guard and stock. The feed cover and bipod can be opened and closed. It also includes a resin box magazine that can store 200 5.56mm ammunition belt bullets.
