Thom Bresh In Concert
Thom Bresh's "The Real Merle Travis Guitar" has been one of Homespun's best-sellers for several years, so we were delighted when he agreed to perform live for our cameras. The result is a look at a consummate entertainer and powerful guitarist in concert. Playing some of his favorite instruments -- his handmade Unity Guitar (a copy of Merle Travis's famous Gibson Super 400 Special); his "beautiful redhead" Godin Multi-Axe; his Harvey Leach "Bresh Spirit" copy of the Travis Martin with the Bigsby neck; and his unique Del Langyans back-to-back guitars (steel string on one side, nylon on the other), Thom performs one of his typically up-beat and musically exciting shows.
This performance DVD will enlighten as well as entertain, as Thom plays songs and instrumentals highlighting his superb country fingerpicking. In addition to his originals, he plays a tune by Chet Atkins, a Jerry Reed medley, a tribute to his friend, the late Marcel Dadi, and a set of classics by his legendary father, Merle Travis. Finally, Thom's pickin' buddy Buster B. Jones joins him for some finger-bustin' duets.
Songs include "Sidewalks of Bordeaux," "Mr. Guitar My Friend," "Roll On Buddy," "Dark As A Dungeon," "Smoke That Cigarette," "Sixteen Tons," "Amos Moses," "Guitar in the Window," "Guitar Rag," "Happy Again," "Walking The Strings," "La Marcelaise" and others.
