Product Description

The Secrets of Stage Conjuring

Robert-Houdin (December 6, 1805 – June 13, 1871) was a French magician. He is widely considered the father of the modern style of conjuring. American magician and escape artist Harry Houdini (born Ehrich Weiss) was so impressed by Robert-Houdin that, after reading his autobiography in 1890, Ehrich adopted the stage name of "Houdini" in honour of Robert-Houdin.
Unlike some other books published by Houdin to teach amateurs magic, this book should only be purchased by professional magicians. The secret stage techniques in this book should be kept within the professional magician community, thus amateurs should not view this material. These are advanced magic tricks that should not be attempted by the beginner who lacks the necessary skills.
Included within this book are the following ADVANCED magic tricks to be performed by professionals:

THE THEATRE OF ROBERT-HOUDIN; A CONJUROR'S STAGE ARRANGEMENTS; HANDKERCHIEF TRICK; THE LIGHT AND HEAVY CHEST;
THE HUNDRED CANDLES LIGHTED BY A PISTOL SHOT; THE GHOST ILLUSION; THE INDIAN BASKET TRICK; SPIRITUALISTIC MANIFESTATIONS;
THE BUST OF SOCRATES; A CURIOUS EFFECT IN ACOUSTICS; THE DECAPITATED SPEAKING; THE PROTEAN CABINET; THE FEATS OF THE DAVENPORT BROTHERS; THE ENCHANTED PORTFOLIO; THE MAGIC DRUM.
[Note: this pre-1923 publication has been converted from its original format and may contain an occasional defect from the conversion and contains the original spellings of words.]
