Famous as the last surviving member of Miles Davis <br><i>Kind of Blue</i> band, Jimmy Cobb s music career over<br>the past 60 years includes other memorable work with<br>Earl Bostic, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughn, Wynton<br>Kelly, and Wes Montgomery.</p><br> He was teaching a master class at the New School for<br>Social Research in the mid-1980s when two of his<br>students demanded his attention: Brad Mehldau<br>reminded him of his old friend Wynton Kelly, and Peter<br>Bernstein of Grant Green. He says, There weren t too<br>many young kids going for that. </p><br> They were soon joined by young Chicago bassist John<br>Webber, and Jimmy Cobb s Mob was born. They re all<br>major players, and here they reunite for the first time<br>in many years!</p><br> A classic Cobb-like set of swinging music, with a few<br>modern surprises thrown in.
