Rich in color and vitality, its<br>four movements are full of the dissonances of village bands and melodies rooted in Romanian folk music.<br>György Sándor Ligeti (1923-2006) was born in Romania to a Hungarian Jewish family and lived in Hungary<br>before later becoming an Austrian citizen.
