(2-CD set) <b>The Last Embrace</b> is the final and cumulative musical statement from one of the heaviest power-trios of the past decade: Spirit Caravan. Wino regards the two-disc, twenty-nine song package not as a complete works, but simply as the best of Spirit Caravans music. And their best, as it were, certainly includes the bands final three songs - (previously unreleased!!) - soaring vocal melodies, reflective acoustic work, earth-rumbling riff-heaviness, and a more open approach to songwriting possibilities characterize these tracks, shedding light on the tragically unrealized potential of an influential and (of course) underappreciated band.
