The set is divided into four equal portions one each for "Benny's Big Band Arrangers," "Benny Visits Tin Pan Alley," "Benny's Small Groups," and "Benny Live" allowing listeners to experience and sample four different sides of his early work. Goodman accompanists who would become stars in their own right Lionel Hampton, Harry James, Gene Krupa, Charlie Christian, Peggy Lee, and Teddy Wilson are all heard on this great album.
