The Peacherine Ragtime Orchestra is one of the nation's premiere ensembles specializing in popular music from before the era of talking films and jazz. Under the direction of Andrew Greene, the orchestra uses original scores and antique instruments to perform theater, dance, and concert selections from the 1880s through the 1920s. On this, the Peacherine Ragtime Orchestra's first recording, listeners are treated to a sampling of classic rags, marches, cakewalks, waltzes, one-steps, and a previously unrecorded 1914 grand concert arrangement of Stephen Foster tunes - all played with skill and vitality.
