Bob Sheppard is one of the most prodigious, versatile and innovative sax players. His clarity of tune and assertive lyricism doe not let you indifferent. Seven of the ten pieces of the album are composed by him. His sound has its roots in the great players of the Fifties; and that purity may be felt throughout all the album. The melodic lines allow all the instruments offer the best of themselves. You may notice the marvelous drums solo of Peter Erskine in "Once removed" for instance.
