EXCERPT: Mom finally just came out with her horrible news: "This is your new step-brother, Mason." When my eyes laid on him I about choked out a rooster. Because this 'Mason'--my new 'step-brother'--was the horrible new boy I ran into at school today. Yeah. I literally ran into him. He had grabbed my shoulders to steady me once I plowed into his (firm) chest. Then--then I peeked up (well, okay, STARED) into the dreamiest eyes I had ever seen--his. This boy's standing in front of me. This boy that wasn't my awesome, wonderful boyfriend, Lincoln--who was the only boy that should make my heart pound all pound-y like it was.<br />But no. It was doing it for my new 'step-brother.' Awesome. (Not!!!)<br />I looked away from Mason's amused (gorgeous) grin, feeling like I needed to dunk my head into a bucket of ice water. And get a shrink for my spastic heart.<br />Oh no. This was going to be bad! Very, very bad!!! <div>***<br />No book needs to be read before this.
