Charles plans to race the horses once again to test their stamina against a better class of horses. <br />Charles hires Eric Stafford, and he proves vital to the breeding and productions of quality horses.<br />Progress continues in Vallejo, so the family returns to Philadelphia, and Charles helps Darren solve the problem of rail construction jobs. <br />Bernard is not doing well with the Philadelphia Inn and asks Charles for advice. Charles helps Bernard and his life drastically changes.<br />Charles takes the family out to eat in San Francisco at a better restaurant, and is disappointed with the food, and the service.<br />Charles decides San Francisco needs a first class hotel and a marvelous restaurant. He finds the perfect location, but is concerned with the inherent built in problems with the land.<br />Ghost and Cassandra’s relationship expands to the point that Cassandra’s mother files a warrant for Ghost’s arrest and Ghost is forced to stand trial.
