The Sodamod adapter is machined from "lead free" brass (as defined by the state of California and the US EPA, who have established a safe limit for drinking faucet applications). The "lead free" brass that we use in the manufacturing of the Sodamod is a much more expensive material than the standard leaded brass that others use.
