England had The Police, United States had Blondie... and Argentina had Soda Stereo, one of the greatest bands of the new wave explosion and without any doubt one of the most important in the history of Rock in Spanish. Their debut was a refreshing breath of modernity and smart lyrics: produced by Federico Moura (leader of Virus), the album contained strong attacks against the lack of control of the consumer society, and it was sarcastically launched at a local fast food chain. Soon it was awarded Platinum in Argentina and Peru, and Double Platinum in Chile, making it an essential title to understand modern music in Latin America.
