Formed with the ambitious goal of becoming 'the most<br>brutal and blasphemous metal act ever', MARDUK have<br>sweat for over two decades to bring blood, darkness and<br>an unrelentingly extreme brand of metal to the world,<br>rightfully earning a place as one of Sweden's most<br>famous - or perhaps more accurately, infamous - black<br>metal bands in the process. Unleashed at the very birth<br>of the nineties, the band has continued to shed its skin,<br>serpentine-like from album to album, each time revealing<br>new layers, both subtle and stark, that have kept<br>them at the forefront of the genre. Serpent Sermon is no<br>different; it is both the logical next step and a huge leap<br>forward for a band that continues to be a guiding light -<br>albeit a bleak, black one - for over two decades.
