It is a modified T-47 Airspeeder that was built by the Incom Corporation. With afterburner, it reaches a speed of a good 110km/h, but it is not capable of space flight and is therefore of limited application. As one of the most widely used types of spacecraft in the galaxy, the T-47 is found in nearly every industrialized world. The modifications made to the Snowspeeder by the Rebels included additional technical equipment to prevent the power plant from immediately freezing up. Thanks to their high speeds, the Snowspeeders are difficult to catch. Strong cables that were originally designed for towing heavy loads and were used to good effect against the AT-ATs are fired by harpoon guns. If necessary, the pilot, who sits back-to back with the gunner in the cockpit, can take over complete control of the weapons in addition to the navigation.<P> <P><b>Helpful Hints For Building</b> <br>Your Snowspeeder is a Level 1 kit - it's perfect for anyone new to model kit building, as well as experienced builders. Always study the assembly drawings included in the packaging before beginning. Each plastic part is identified by a part number. This kit may be snapped together, but for extra stability, you may want to cement or glue the parts as well. Trimming to remove extra plastic and filing to smooth before part assembly is suggested.
