Detection levels ranges from 0% to 20% of LEL for multiple combustible gases including methane, propane, butane, coal gas, town gas, LPG Liquid Petroleum Gas, LNG Liquid Natural Gas.<br><br><b>Testing/Tips</b><br>-On receipt and every couple weeks, test your detector with propane or unlit butane from a cigarette lighter.<br>-Place alarm near ceiling for natural gas or other buoyant gases and near floor for propane, butane.<br>-See the displayed gas levels in % LEL go up before the alarm sounds at 5% LEL, with 100% LEL being the minimum gas concentration for fires/explosions. Push center button for gas levels.<br>-Item undergoes self-test sequence on startup.<br><br>Avoid placement in close proximity to where airborne contaminants like cooking oils can coat and decrease sensor sensitivity.
