This is a thumb switch type hand control with a plug that has a long cord with a 90 degree five (5) pin connector that goes down through a hole in the chair and plugs directly to the control box mounted on the side of the motor. To see if this is the one you need, just follow your hand control cord down past the handle, and past the curly cord, and then look to see if it has a long straight cord that goes all the way down to the motor underneath the chair. This control was designed for older model chairs (over 10 years old now) with a Dewert Megamat MB1 electrical system. The motor will either have the words Dewert Megamat Plus MB1, or could have a label with a number like 991.075.001. PLEASE NOTE: The original control is soon to be discontinued by Pride, so we are shipping the new style control with a Quick Disconnect and an extension cord (the purpose of the quick disconnect is so that if the grandkids are coming over, you can disconnect the hand control so they won't play with the chair, and also if the control ever needs to be changed again, it is easier to change it by disconnecting it there instead of having to turn the chair over). With the new control, our suggestion is to leave the quick disconnect either in the side pocket of the chair or the back of the chair so you can get to it easily.
