- In some cases, the GM 10SI and 12SI alternators backfeed through the regulator excitation wire, not allowing the engine to be shutoff with the ignition switch
- Kit allows you to stop alternator backfeeding by installing this diode inline on the ignition switched wire going to the regulators pin #1

This wire is lightweight and easily routed and it exceeds OE specifications for underhood use.
