O1 is an oil quenching steel, with an alloy of 1.0% carbon, 1.25% manganese, 0.5% chromium, 0.5% silicon, 0.5% tungsten, and trace amounts of phosphorus and sulphur. This steel is annealed and precision ground. The end is painted red for identification purposes in our shop.
