In fact, you don't even have to use the collet lock - ideal for table- or CNC-mounted routers. Not only that, but the extra reach afforded by the Musclechuck allows you to perform above-table router bit changes in seconds. Unlike many other quick-change router chucks, this one doesn't rely on a cam, so it won't damage the router bit shank, and there's no risk of loosening over time. Available in two types for different groups of routers. Features: Easy installation: Musclechuck threads directly onto your router's existing spindle The Musclechuck accepts 1/2" shanks out of the box, and a 1/4" reducer (#44454, sold separately) is available for 1/4" shanks Chuck adds approximately 1/2" to the length of your router spindle, which makes more cutting length available when the router is mounted in a table Use an ordinary 4mm or 5/32 in hex wrench (sold separately) to secure the bits.
