The return of the successful <b>Mod Jazz Series</b> that has not only invented and codified a sound, it has made it popular. Jazz that is accessible, touching on its blues, soul and Latin influences while always having a danceable beat. It includes the super-rare, the well known and the previously unreleased.<p>Here are a couple of impossible-to-find tracks in the form of Troy Dodds' <i>The Real Thing</i> and Jesse Davis' <i>Night Bloomin' Jasmin</i>. Both are B-sides of super-expensive Northern rarities, but are excellent Mod Jazz tracks in their own right. We've chosen five previously unreleased cuts, including a stunning organ version of <i>Who's Afraid Of Virginia Wolff</i>, a future R&B monster from Floyd White and a great boogaloo from Dave Hamilton.<p>Screaming Hammond comes from Jack McDuff and Reuben Wilson's hard-to-find debut 45 <i>Rod Run</i>. There are also bluesy jazz vocal performances from sought-after records by Toby Lark, Billy Larkin, Little Bob and Clint Stacy with a terrific version of Oscar Brown Jr.'s <i>Work Song</i>.<p>Mod Jazz classics range from Buddy Guy's <i>Fever</i>, Byrdie Green's <i>Return Of The Prodigal Son</i>, Johnny Lytle's <i>Village Caller</i> and Mark Murphy's wonderful dodgy bossa <i>It's Like Love</i>. All put together by Ady Croasdell and Dean Rudland.
