From the jazz-influenced riffs of the title track, to the unique timbral blend of synthesizer and strings explored in Correspondences, to the pointillist clarity of Composition for Twelve Instruments, Gil Rose and the BMOP orchestra play Babbitt's multifaceted works with insight and precision. Celebrated soprano Lucy Shelton joins the orchestra for the spiritual From the Psalter; two works for mixed ensemble, Paraphrases and The Crowded Air, complete the set.
