When a higher thread weight number is used, the thread is finer and a tighter weave can be achieved, which keeps the slim fit look in the garment. <BR><BR> The typical cotton t-shirt has an approximate 18 singles count, having a more rugged feel and a heavier weight. Although the label reads "cotton", it is definitely not enjoyable to wear. 20 singles t-shirts are slightly better, but not by much. 30 singles t-shirts are much better tshirts; they are softer, last longer, and are a better overall fit.
