Live at the Nec

     The story begins back in the halycon days of 1968 when Jon Anderson, the singer with a band called The Warriors, a Beatles inspired beat combo who had recorded a couple of singles for Decca back in 1964 teamed with bass player Chris Squire. They called their new band, which featured Peter Banks on guitar, Tony Kaye on keyboards and legendary drummer Bill Bruford “Yes.”  <br />     In 1987, Jon Anderson teamed up with ex-Yes members Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman and Bill Bruford to make an album called Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe. Many people at the time believed that this ensemble was the true keeper of the Yes flame, and that the album sounded far more like classic Yes.<br />     The four piece went on tour billed as “An Evening of Yes Music Plus”. The tour – from which this legendary recording was taken - was a triumph artistically and commercially.
