Ladino music's roots are found in ancient Spain, but the music was enriched with various European influences following the Jews' expulsion from Spain at the close of the fifteenth century. This unique compilation is a delicate combination of ancient songs passed from mother to daughter for many generations, and present-day songs composed in Israel by Matilda Cohen Serano (lyrics) and Chaim Tzur (music).
