Input and output are clearly marked, and the terminals are fully covered and insulated by the orange end-caps for safety. The terminals are screw-clamp type: Just strip off 3/16" of insulation from each wire, insert the wire into the appropriate terminal hole and tighten down the screw. No soldering, wire nuts, or exposed connectors.
