Journey; A Novel
In 1897, gold fever infected sane men around the world. The chance for untold riches sent thousands to one of the most forbidding areas on the map: the Klondike. For a few, the riches became reality; for the vast majority, they became no more than a lost hope - and for hundreds their hapless journeys ended in death. This novel recounts the adventures of the strangest group of all, a band of four aristocratic Englishmen and their Irish servent, Tim Fogarty, an aspiring gamekeeper and accomplished poacher. His presence is a duty of service he cannot refuse, particularly since the group chooses the most difficult of routes to the gold fields, north of Edmonton down the forbidding Mackenzie River. This is a book club edition.
