Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, soul/R&B performer Jonathan Butler signed to Jive Records in 1977 and later relocated to the UK, enjoying a high profile and several hit singles and albums across the 1980's. This deluxe set includes the singer's self-titled second LP for Jive. First issued back in 1987, the double-album peaked at # 12 on the UK charts. This success fueled the Top 20 success of the single 'Lies', a song later nominated for a Grammy.
