Hudgens was born in Salinas, California, Vanessa is a talented beauty and she comes from an international mixture of Irish Native American by her father and Filipino, Spanish, Chinese descent by her mother. In August 2007 at the Teen Choice Awards, Hudgens was named the Choice Breakout Singer - Female, beating out other noteworthy nominees including American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee, Amy Winehouse, Corrine Bailey Rae and Lily Allen.
