By the mid-eighties the Dazz Band had delivered seven albums for the mighty Motown, had scored gold status selling singles, had picked up a Grammy Award and were widely regarded as the next generation of hit acts to take the label forward with their unique blend of synth-funk that had became one of the hallmarks of the first-half the decade. Albums by the stalwarts of the Four Tops and Temptations dynasty were few and far between; the Commodores had lost their captain in Lionel Richie, and DeBarge were still months away from a pop crossover smash, making the Ohio-based group the ideal candidates. And yet after a relatively brief five-year tenure the Dazz Band's final opus would become 1985's <b>Hot Spot</b>. Limited edition of 2000.
