Steve Smith is a jazz, rock, and heavy metal drummer of legendary proportions. He is currently a member of several bands, most notably as the longtime drummer for Journey and leader/founder of Vital Information. In 2001, Modern Drummer named Smith one of the Top 25 Drummers of All Time. The following year, he was voted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame. He has recorded with Jean-Luc Ponty, Mariah Carey, the Buddy Rich Big Band, Jeff Hamilton, and many more.
