Following the success of Dutton's first two volumes of John Foulds's melodious lighter fare, this third traversal of a forgotten but agreeably tuneful repertoire reveals even more delights. The ten works presented here in fact fall into some eighteen separate movements. It includes the early Undine Suite, the Prelude Romantique followed by musical visits to Kashmir, China and Hungary, all rounded with the Gaelic Dream-Song and Basque Serenade. All are world premiere recordings, performed with customary panache by the BBC Concert Orchestra under the direction of Ronald Corp.
