The United States is rich in legend and lore related to lost mines and buried treasures. Over the years, a number of hidden caches and sunken treasure of unbelievable wealth have been found. Most of them, however, remain lost. Some have argued that Florida contains more lost, buried, and sunken treasure than any other state in the union. Evidence for the claim is substantial.
