But not these little-known, seldom-played masterpieces, which have melodies, rhythm, and inspiration equal to the one Dvorřak Quartet most music lovers know, the <I>American,</I> Op. 96. This current Vlach Quartet is led by the daugher of the leader of the original ensemble. It plays with beautiful tone, nuance, and a grasp of Dvorřak's style unsurpassed in any other contemporary recordings I have heard. The finales make me want to dance!
