The first studio album from 1971: <b>Cris Williamson</b>, a stirring self titled work that was out of print for years. Its diversity and experimentation are gripping, from brightly rocking melodies to classically lush string and horns. Influenced by Judy Collins, who also came form the rocky mountains region, Cris established herself as a rising folk rock artist with this classic and timeless work. Eight of the tracks were written or co-written by Cris Williamson. Offering an eclectic style ranging from the solo piano accompaniment of the first track, <i>Waiting,</i> to the string and horn charts that fill the outstanding nature of the closing song, <i>Number One.</i> While Williamson's western background infuses the track <i>Joanna</i>.
