With its resilient design, it holds a heavy gauge hook well enough to flair out bucktail and a cast iron clamp is included.<br> <br>Although primarily designed for small hooks, it can accommodate most hook sizes, as well as saltwater hooks and it provides access to rear of hook. Customers have used the vise for tying bucktail jigs in the 1/2 to 2 ounce range using 2/0 to 4/0 hooks, for 8oz bottom jigs with 8/0 hooks and other sizes.
