Borrow Free Public Library Books On Kindle And Fire: Borrowing Library eBooks from Amazon Through OverDrive For Libraries
The good news is that members of over 11,000 public libraries in the U.S. can borrow eBooks from their local library or through the regional networks that honor their library card through OverDrive. The bad news is that the process is somewhat clunky, a few public library sites are loaded with advertisements, and the most popular books often have a waiting list. If your library isn’t in the OverDrive network (check the OverDrive website), you won’t be able to check out library books through Amazon.

This eBook illustrates how you can borrow public library Kindle eBooks and send them to your B&W eInk Kindle or Fire by way of OverDrive and Amazon. Most public libraries use the default OverDrive menus and design, which we demonstrate in this eBook. Some big city libraries, Boston and New York are two, offer customized versions of the OverDrive website that display advertising and use a slightly different navigation approach.

Despite some clunky issues, like having to delete the eBooks after returning them if you don't want empty husks left on your Kindle, borrowing Kindle eBooks from public libraries is a great option for finding and reading the books you love on your Kindle or Fire.
