Set against the backdrop of Soviet, post-war Russia, Birth of an Assassin follows the transformation of Jez Kornfeld from wide-eyed recruit to avenging outlaw. Amidst a murky underworld of flesh-trafficking, prostitution and institutionalized corruption, the elite Jewish soldier is thrown into a world where nothing is what it seems, nobody can be trusted, and everything can be violently torn from him.<br /><br /><h2>About the Author</h2><br />Rik Stone has worked the shipyards on the River Tyne, chanced his arm with a stint in the merchant navy and worked the quarry in Essex now known as the Lakeside Shopping Center. After giving up looking at the world through the bottom of a pint glass, he completed a bachelor’s degree in computing and mathematics and turned to red wine - progress. He lives in Essex with his wife, Susie and Staffie, Wilson and that is probably where you’ll always find him.
