Biology: How Life Works Volume 1

A reshaping and re-visioning has been taking place in biology undergraduate education in general, and in the Majors Biology course in particular. In line with these developments, we felt it was time to rethink what learning resources can best support today's changing classroom. Biology for a Changing World is a new type of majors textbook that is uniquely developed by carefully considering the whole teaching package and how a student learns best - everything from deciding on what material would be presented within the printed chapters, to developing an art program that works seamlessly between 2D and 3D visualizations, to creating assessment activities tat give students a chance to practice and build upon what they've learned, everything has been rethought and reworked. The result is a focused, streamlined textbook, enhanced by a comprehensive assessment package and a fully integrated media collection that supports a variety of learning and teaching styles.
