This 6-CD set contains 100 tracks from the finest EMI recordings of the most popular and best loved hymns performed by over five internationally renowned choirs. CD-1 and CD-2 features the Choir of King's College, Cambridge performing such hymns as Heber's <i>Holy, holy, holy!</i>, Mary E. Byrne's translation of <i>Be thou my Vision</i> and Farjeon's <i>Morning Has Broken</i>. The Choirs of York Minster and Liverpool Cathedral are featured in CD-3 which include recordings of Boberg's <i>How Great Thou Art</i> as well as Wesley's <i>Love divine</i>, all loves excelling. Among the 17 hymns found in CD-4, dedicated to the Temple Church Choir, is the popular advent hymn, Hark, what a sound. Recordings from The Huddersfield Choral Society and American Boychoir are the highlighted in CD-5.
