The AXIS spring-assist opening and locking mechanism has been updated to be stronger than its predecessors; it provides a safety lock in both opened and closed positions. Ambidextrous thumb-stud design allows you to easily open and close the knife with either hand. The ComboEdge, drop-point, stainless-steel blade measures 3.6 in. and has a blade hardness of 58-61HRC. Resin handle is impervious to moisture and provides a strong, comfortable frame that is easy to handle. The Benchmade 580S Barrage knife features a reversible pocket clip that makes storage and transport easy—just clip it on your pocket or belt and go! BK1 coating provides excellent corrosion protection, which exceeds the ASTM-117 spec for saltwater while possessing higher scratch resistance. Assisted-opening
