Product Description

AudioQuest 8m Husky RCA Low-Frequency Subwoofer Audio Interconnect Nylon Braid

  • Solid 5% Silver Conductors: Solid conductors help eliminate strand-interaction distortion. Although harsh and aggressive for full-range audio, silver-plated conductors enhance intelligibility and articulation when used for subwoofers, resulting in a cost-effective way of manufacturing very high-quality subwoofer cables.
  • Polyethylene Air-Tube Insulation: Because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene has a benign distortion profile, Polyethylene Air-Tube Insulation, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials. The result is clearer, more coherent sound.
  • Carbon-Based Multi-Layer Noise-Dissipation: AudioQuest’s Noise-Dissipation technology significantly reduces the RF Noise that reaches active circuits and causes masking effects.
  • Triple-Balanced Geometry: AudioQuest’s Triple-Balanced Geometry uses a separate ground-reference conductor, so the cable’s shield is never used as an inferior conductor. The cable’s three conductors ensure that the positive and negative signals have equally superior, low-distortion conducting paths.
  • 72v Dielectric-Bias System (DBS): AudioQuest’s patented DBS creates an electrostatic field that molecularly optimizes the cable’s insulation (dielectric). This minimizes distortion by increasing the dielectric’s efficiency at high frequency, resulting in clearer sound emerging from a “blacker” background. The inclusion of an RF Trap further reduces induced radio-frequency noise.
  • Cold-Welded Hanging-Silver over Pure Red Copper Terminations: Cold-welding bonds the plug to the wire using high pressure, preserving the character of the wire at the point of termination. Hanging-Silver directly over pure Red Copper further ensures optimal signal transfer.
  • Direction-Controlled Conductors: A fundamental aspect of AudioQuest's multifaceted Noise-Dissipation technology, Direction-Controlled Conductors ensure induced noise is dissipated and drained properly.

This is the 8M (26' 3") Husky Subwoofer Cable with Braided jacket and RCA plugs SOLID 5% SILVER CONDUCTORS: Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications POLYETHYLENE AIR-TUBE INSULATION: All of Husky's conductors use PE Air-Tube Insulation because air absorbs next to no energy, and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. PE Air-Tube Insulation causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials. DIELECTRIC-BIAS SYSTEM (DBS, US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1): The DBS battery packs will last for years. A test button and LED allow for the occasional battery check. CARBON-BASED 4-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing captured RF Interference from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation System. Metal and Carbon-Loaded synthetics prevent most RFI from reaching the equipment's ground plane. TRIPLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY: The 100% coverage shield is never used as an inferior conductor. COLD-WELDED HANGING-SILVER DIRECTLY OVER PURE RED COPPER SYSTEM: This plug design enables a perfect heat-free connection between cable and plug. The connection between the plug and conductors is made using AQ's Cold-Welded System, which provides a superior connection that ensures that the structural integrity of the conductor is kept completely intact. The Cold-Welded System refers to a combination of high pressure at the point of contact and the use of silver-impregnated paste. GROUNDING: Sometimes there is a hum problem unless the subwoofer and AV receiver (or surround-sound processor) are attached to each other using a separate wire. If your system has a hum problem, try attaching the little spade-lug tails to the metal chassis of the subwoofer amplifier and to the chassis of the sending component. Usually, this extra wire will not be needed.
