That's how we want our guide to feel.<br /><br />We're from Seattle, but we've visited Kauai many times - we've almost lost count! We even lived there for a few months. Each time we visit Kauai we enjoy trying new things, seeing new places, and asking locals for their suggestions. Our visits always include a mix of familiar favorites and delightful new surprises. We take our best experiences and put them into this guide for you.<br /><br />For a comprehensive book, we recommend The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook (UKG) by Andrew Doughty. It's a great reference with tons of good information and accurate directions. But it is a lot to absorb! Use our guide to focus on our shorter, personal list of great stuff. We have some specific recommendations that aren't in the UKG, and we have a different opinion on a few things too.<br /><br />We cover restaurants, beaches, shopping, hikes & walks, activities, car rentals and driving tips - everything you need to know to have a great time on Kauai.
