Joanne is an Amish woman whose mother has just passed away. The loss of her mother has crushed her father and brothers. Joanna provides a shoulder to cry on but she soon meets an "outsider", David, at the city library. It is love at first sight for the two of them but her father forbids her from dating "outsiders", warning her of the dangers as David comes to court her. Will she leave her Amish community for true love or will she stay with her family in their time of need?
