The Swedish mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg has searched with musicologists archives in Europe and the US after preserved opera manuscripts dealing with the figure of Agrippina. The Roman Agrippina was one of the first real female characters that inspired the imagination of librettist and composer throughout Europe instead of legends and fantasy figures. 12 of the 16 arias from composers such Perti, Porpora, Legrenzi, Sammartini, Graun, Telemann and Handel are world premiere recordings. Ann Hallenberg is accompanied by the ensemble Il pomo d'oro, conducted by Riccardo Minasi who has received for his album "Stella di Napoli" with Joyce DiDonato rave reviews worldwide and a Grammy nomination.
