• ACCURATE DOG PARENTAGE TEST: Our Dog Paternity Test is a quick and easy way to accurately determine the parentage of a dog, by measuring DNA markers. Each dog has 2 alleles at each DNA marker (loci), one of which is inherited from the dam (mother) and the other from the sire (father). Our extended test uses a profile of 28 genetic markers, or loci, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology to accurately determine parentage when the dam is not available to take part in the test.
• EXTENDED MARKER TEST: Our Dog Paternity Test without Mother offers extended testing of additional DNA markers for cases when the mother is not available for testing. The extended parentage verification test using a 28-DNA marker panel instead of the usual 16 markers will provide accurate results without testing the dam. This extended marker test can also be used for cases where the fathers are closely related, for example brothers.
• ADDITIONAL DOGS: Testing of the sire and the progeny (puppy) is included in the price and, when both are tested using the extended marker test, we can confirm parentage with a probability of more than 99.99%. Please contact us before ordering if you need to test additional sires or puppies.
• COMPLETE TESTING KIT: The DNA Sample Collection Kit Contains - 8 x sterile mouth swabs (4 swabs each for sire and puppy), step-by-step sample collection instructions, registration form and return envelope. Results in 4 weeks or less from receipt of samples at the laboratory.
